Why I danced…

(this list is inspired by Douglas Dunn)

to prepare for and keep up with the changes

to connect to and express energy through physicality

to have a conversation between my imagination, my body and the space

to dance with others and experience community

to find a sense of flow

to listen to my intuition

to process stress through a physical practice

to have a daily ritual of creativity and action

to overcome addictions

to strengthen my sense of embodied presence

to find moments that are alive

to hear my inner voice more clearly

to experience compassion for humanity

to feel a sense of unity with the music

to find a flow while dancing with others

to overcome my suffering and live in alignment

to stay connected to a vital heritage of dancers that have come before me

to take care of my nervous system

to be grounded in my body

to dance with others

to lose myself and find myself at the same time

to play
