Wetlands is a fluid, eco-somatic work rooted in memory, environmental conservation, and human connection. Initially inspired by Karen’s childhood memories of Canoeing with her family, the choreography translates the ecological vital nature of wetland enviornments—nature’s natural filtration systems—into a study of embodied movement, community, sustainability, and flow.

Beyond its environmental urgency, the piece examines the duality of water as both a geographic boundary and a vessel for globalization. Wetlands honors how bodies move through shifting landscapes—while probing for a sense of home, and belonging in an interconnected world.

In collaboration with: Jin Ju Song-Begin, Katariina Tuomiluoma, Elisa Vazquez, Andrew Broaddus, Thea Little, René Kladzyk, Benjamin Garner, Jordan Chlapecka and Rachel Watson. The piece also featured site specific dance videos by Vazquez, Song-Begin, Emily Athena Abrahams, Anna Asplind, Silvia Balvin, Miguel Angel Guzman, Carolina Tabares Mendoza, Lina Puodziukaite, and Harvey.
